M51 processed by Don Waid(Al Degutis)

Description : Don Waid took my composite of 70x120sec exposures stacked using Registax and processed it (see below for details)
Imaging Equipment : Meade DSI Color
Telescope : Meade LX200 8" Classic with F/3.3 focal reducer
Post Processing : Al's steps:
Stacked with Registax.
Dark substraction and debayering using FITZ.

Don's steps:
-I used mainly repeated levels
and curves to bring out the galaxies.
-Croman's Gradient XTerminator to deal with some of the gradients.
- Neat image to lessen some of the background noise.
- a couple of passes with High Pass
Filter sharpening and a little of PhotoShop's sharpening routines to bring
out some detail in the galaxy.
- reduced the star bloat with the minimum filter.
- cleaned up some star trailing with the use of the smudge tool
